I can't remember dealing with the one beer per person rule in Raleigh, but in Asheville literally every establishment I've been to requires both people be present. It's annoying

it tends to be enforced by bartenders that don’t know/recognize a customer

especially when the ALE is out and about looking to bust bars for breaking laws

The NC ABC Commission banned a Flying Dog beer for the label being "in bad taste" so TGD is representing Flying Dog and suing on First Amendment grounds.
