cyst bursting - to me it felt almost exactly like when my appendix ruptured, only on a much lower scale, but when my appendix ruptured the pain was so low the doctors thought a cyst was bursting.

The pain is just dull and achey now. I can feel it when I think of it.

I mean I have pcos and I will get random sharp stabbing pains in my ovaries often. But this one was like a butcher knife going in me and being twisted around to the point of me feeling like I was going to barf. I broke out into a sweat. I was driving too and I had to pull over and lay flat back in my seat until I could move again.

i need a duvet cover!!!

but i'm not trying to spend like $150. i'd like to spend <$80 for a full/queen duvet cover. its just that i'm so picky i can't find anything that i'm 100% sure i'll love. where have you guys found good duvet covers/what does yours look like? i think this one from urban outfitters is cute, like the colors, unsure about the birds, and unsure of whether or not i'd get sick of it in like a week:

http://tinyurl.com/lmvs4y (for close up images of the pattern)

i don't think i want just a solid color. i'd like some pattern but not too much color or too crazy. i like blues/greens/browns and earth tones. but lighter shades of all those colors. i just don't know where to look. i didn't like any of the ones on targets website.
what do you guys think about this? it is a little expensive ($99) but i really like it in the natural and sea spray colors (which is better?). it is solid but i think the pintucking gives it some character and i can always find funky shams/throw pillows to spice it up:

http://www.westelm.com/products/b340/?pkey=cduvet-covers-quilts

then there's this (i would want it in the sea color i think - it isn't pictured, but the brown seems a little dark. either brown or sea. i just can't do white - my cat gets on my bed and there would be fur and whatever else to get it dirty):

http://www.westelm.com/products/b437/?pkey=cduvet-covers-quilts

i just don't even know where to look!!

EDIT: ok so after looking at them again i am leaning toward the second one in sea spray (the grayish color) - thoughts??? i know gray is kind of blah but i think with the right sheets and pillow shams it could turn out to be really pretty. it is $99 but that is fairly cheap for an organic cotton duvet cover. HOWEVER it is only 230 thread count. i don't know what thread count my duvet cover is now. i hope it wouldn't be scratchy.

well i'm posting again because no one else is up

in OTHER news this website is AMAZING. i want everything on it - except it is like, prettttttty expensive. aside from the duvet covers which seemed pretty reasonable considering those things are expensive everywhere (even like target).

anyway. i could make my condo really pretty if i had unlimited $$$ to spend here!

Why not make your own duvet cover? That's my plan. One solid color sheet and one print so it's reversible. Much cheaper to buy 2 flat sheets of a decent thread count than a duvet cover.

http://www.sininlinen.com/

i bought a sin in linen duvet off amazon last year when i was looking for one

i got this print

and LOVE it and get lots of compliments on it when new people come over and i give them a tour of the house

but the sin in linen website, honestly is like hot topic type shit except for the one i posted. but i will say the quality is very good and it came with matching pillowcases

and a pic of how it looks on the bed since i realized the website pic is overwhelming

ok i think i'm definitely (eventually) going to get the pintuck duvet cover (i looked on ebay and found some new ones for cheaper yay!). i just don't know which color i want:

Sea Grass:

Sea Spray (this is originally what I thought I wanted):

or Natural (now i'm kind of leaning toward this but i don't know if it is too light!):

"Can anyone describe to me what the pain of a cyst bursting feels like? "

Like I was being skewered with a cauterizing iron above my pelvis.

I can put up with a fuckton of pain if I put my mind to it (i.e., if I'm surprised, it'll hurt at first, and then once I decide to deal with it, it's not that bad at all) . Like, you can twist my nipples two full turns before it even begins to hurt. You can go for pressure points, and I'm fine.

That shit had me crying non-stop and gasping for breath.

kdawg(c), that's not a business. If your wife is serious about that shit, make a professional website, take better photos, give better (namely, less hokey and more educated-sounding) descriptions, and better product concepts. I'm assuming there actually is something that sets her apart from a semi-literate housebound harnett county trailertrash SAHM trying to make some pin money, but from the link you gave, there's no evidence to support that assumption.

sawahash - what you described sounds about right. a few looooooooong moments of insufferable pain and then a day or two of aching. i usually have what i call "firework" cramps for a few days before the bursting. a burst of pain the spreads and contracts quickly.

One of my little sister's friends is hosting Raleigh Really Really Free Market today!

Quote :
"Start Time: Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 2:00pm
End Time: Monday, August 31, 2009 at 6:00pm
Location: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh
Street: 3313 Wade Ave.
City/Town: Raleigh, NC

First Really Really Free Market in Raleigh for awhile! Come out to give, take, and share as much as you want.

got any clothes you don't wear any more? books you don't read? an awesome blueberry pie recipe? can you cut hair? fix a bike? play an acoustic guitar or banjo? come share it!

Expect free books, clothes, books, entertainment, and FUN

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Really_Really_Free_Market

hopefully we'll be able to be able to keep having free markets the last sunday of every month too!

"Because there's enough for everyone
Because sharing is more fulfilling than owning
Because corporations would rather the landfills overflow than anyone get anything for free
Because scarcity is a myth constructed to keep us at the mercy of the economy
Because a sunny day outside is better than anything money could buy
Because 'free trade' is a contradiction in terms
Because no one should have to do without food, shelter, entertainment, and community
Because life should be a picnic, but it only will be if we make it happen"

also, if you bring food, please label it if it contains allergens, meat, or animal products, etc. so no one accidentally eats something they don't want to. "

^ urban outfitters?

its definitely unique. i am a fan of purple and gray. it just looks like it might be a little thin (judging from the way it looks on the model, anyway)

EDIT: nvm, urban!!

have you tried modcloth? they usually have really cute dresses, too

DIT-fucking-TO. man, i never in my life It was my first (~2 years ago), and I was in so much doubled over crying pain that I drove my ass to urgent care...they sent me to the ER in case it was my appendix as there was nothing they could do for me there. I had no idea it would be that painful. I heard of them rupturing and it was bad, but JEEZ!! that shit was nuts.

After I got my ER records to take to by OBGYN. This was the funny part...the first damn sentence was, "Patient does not appear in acute distress." WHAT?!?! My ass I wasn't in acute distress! That was as ACUTE as I could've possibly been

Either way...it's very painful. I would like to add a crazy sharp and radiating sensation to what it feels like as well. owie

And I like the first dress...like a lot like. In other words, I might go get that for me like

I kind of agree with begonias. Though it depends on where you're going for your birthday. The first dress is adorable, but the second is fairly vegas-y.

If you don't want to spend too much but want a nicer dress or designer, then find a decent loehmann's or a thrift store in an upscale neighborhood. My old roommate regularly finds great designer brands (lamb shoes and betsey johnson dresses) at the thrift store in the rich part of town.

Betsey johnson dresses are perfect birthday party dresses. They're so wild, yet well-constructed.

i'm gonna venture in here and ask you ladies, mainly cuz calling my doctor and leaving a message with the nurse and waiting on a call back just seems like a lot to go through right now

can weightloss change the way your body reacts to birth control? what i mean is, i've been on the same pill (the generic of ortho-cyclen, i think it's called sprintec) for as long as i can remember. i've never had problems. then for some reason, in the last 3 or 4 months, i've been getting my period literally twice a month. i get some spotting and light bleeding at 2 weeks (that lasts 2 or 3 days), then i get the full-on period at 4 weeks (when the pills say i should get it). the first month it happened, i thought it was stress. the second month it happened, i was just flat out annoyed. and now i've "started" again, but i'm not due until next monday. and this makes the fourth month in a row this kinda thing has happened. i started losing weight 9 months ago, and though i'm only down 35lbs, i can't think of anything else that could have caused this to start happening. any ideas???

^ It could be a combination of things. Stress + dietary changes + hormonal fluctuations can change the way your body reacts to birth control. Because weight loss does affect your hormones, it could also affect the way your body responds to your birth control.

what should i ask to be switched to? maybe the doctor will have some ideas.

I switched to lutera from levora about 2 months ago and so far I really like it. I can't decide if it's the meds or life in general that has kind of killed my appetite but I've lost a little weight. I'm hoping it's not a coincidence

I think the skipping the period thing is weird. I've delayed my period so I could have some fun on special weekends, but in general I like having it and knowing for sure that I'm not preggo.

VV haha, I've heard that about a lot of people. Between the price of it going up and weight gain I couldn't take it anymore.

" need to get my hair trimmed, it's been a couple years. you know split ends, around the ears, neckline, that kinda stuff. you girls have any suggestions? not trying to spend 75 bucks on a salon but i do need someone that knows what they're doing."

From another thread here at TWW, and from reviews on Google, I took a stab at going to Blo at Brier Creek. I was very happy with the experience. I picked a designer from random (she also had an appointment slot that would work for me) and am very happy. I got a nice hair cut, and she was very helpful and cheery and all that mess. I didn't feel like I was in a snotty place, there was no talking about other customers or any of that drama stuff. She made me feel comfortable with myself (I was feeling bad because my hair looked AWFUL - I hadn't had a cut since the beginning of May).

The staff is very nice there - as soon as you come in, you can get a nice drink and chill out while you wait. I absolutely loved the shampooing process - massage chairs with a scalp rub! Heaven. Felt comfortable enough to chat a little, but didn't have to talk all the time, could just sit back and watch her cut my hair. She was ALWAYS checking on if I liked how my hair was going (as it was my first time and had a specific cut in mind) - she even asked me at the end when all were gone "Now, you like it? Anything I can change? Speak up, I know we're the last ones out, don't feel bad!"

I bought some product (and you know how overpriced THAT is), but my total bill WITH tax was under 60. They have different levels of designers, with different price schemes. My girl was the "New Talent" so the haircut was around 40 I believe. Don't be put off by the name of the levels - she had been at Blo for 2.5 years. Anyway. So, my props out to Amanda at Blo. Good experience.

Also, I have had my last two hair cuts/styles at hair schools.

I went to the Paul Mitchell school in San Diego for a color change. It cost $30 and looked awesome!
Last Friday I went to the Aveda Institute in Orlando for a basic cut. It cost $12 and I'm extremely satisfied.

Although the stylists are students, their instructors pay very close attention to your cut.
