Zelda is a must though, 90+ hours of solid game play
I would say Zelda, Metroid, and Rayman 11/1/2007 1:53:42 PM |

I picked up Zelda and Mario Party 8. I have two controllers and two nunchukas right now. I figure I'll pick up two more controllers for when I have people over. Are there any games that will require 4 nunchuckas? 11/1/2007 8:03:13 PM |

I would highly recommend strikers. It has a steep learning curve with playing people online because they are just too good, but once you get the hang of it, it gets pretty fast and crazy. Very fun game. 11/1/2007 10:27:09 PM |

well strikers can require 4 nunchucks if you have 4 people playing.
i've heard mario party 8 is terrible, so hopefully it doesnt sour you right from the start. 11/1/2007 10:59:54 PM |

p.s. I hear a lot of the first generation games by third party manufacturers have issues with the wii remotes. is this true? for example, I read that tiger woods 08 is sometimes annoying with the wiimote because it's coded badly. 11/2/2007 11:43:16 AM |
FanatiK All American 4248 Posts user info edit post |
^that's true, but it has nothing to do with being 1st or 2nd gen.
I'll give you a hint:
It has the letterss EA on the box.
most of the games are fine, if they aren't being developed by lazy devs.

I've noticed that Rayman won't let you play outside of a specific distance from the sensor bar. I don't know if it's different with the wireless sensor bar or not. I imagine that this may just be the optimal distance of all games and that Rayman just cuts the wiimote's functionality at this point. 11/2/2007 3:14:05 PM |

so, here's the deal.
I take my Wii and my two Wiimotes over to my friend's house.
We set up and everything. He has his friend's other wiimote so we can do three people.
All of a sudden, I realize that the accelerometer on my 1P wiimote has stopped working. It had worked 3 hours ago when I played before I went to dinner. Now it's completely not working. I can point around the screen just fine, but the accelerometer wont work
I haven't tested it back at my place, so I dont know if it was an issue at his place (he had a PS3 with a guitar hero 3 receiver, i dunno).
still, it kinda pisses me off that it looks like it broke already. 11/3/2007 1:21:00 AM |

I'm almost positive that they are fine. I got this thing two days ago and I haven't logged more than an hour or two of game time on it.
The other Wiimote that I got the same day is fine. I think it's just defective.
I was thinking of going to Best Buy, getting a new Wiimote, and then "returning" it (my bad one instead). Will this work?11/3/2007 11:33:22 AM |

The sensor works fine, it's just that the accelerometer is totally NOT working. I get vibration, sound, everything, no response from the accelerometer.

I saw Mario Galaxy on display at EB games and was once again severely disappointed in the lazy development. Once again, every time you enter a world, you have to choose what star you want to go get . . . which also makes me think that you will be shunted out of your world as soon as you find that star. That was okay back in the N64 days, but not ok now. Mario Sunshine kept my attention for only the first world because of that.
It all depends on how it plays, but I don't foresee myself picking it up before it starts hitting the bargain bins. 11/4/2007 5:46:54 PM |
