When should we really start paying attention to the models?

Whats the timeframe when the models become >70% accurate?

As per WXrisk

Quote :
"OVERNIGHT UPDATE -- 0Z WED EURO MODEL STILL HAS SIGNIFICANT SNOWSTORM FOR MUCH OF NC VA --

the new 0z wed EURO Shows several inches of snow for charlotte Greensboro Raleigh Elizabeth city fayetteville ALL OF HAMPPON ROADS Richmond Lynchburg Danville Emporia all of the Middle Peninsula all of the Northern neck into Freedysburg Charlottesville DCA all of lower VA / MD eastern shore.

if correct this would be MAJOR SNOWSTORM for eastern VA / NC and the DELMARVA . The North edge of the snow now reaches into DC BAL PHL NYC

The other two models of importance the British and the Canadian model did shift somewhat to the east early this Wednesday morning. They still have accumulating snow of several inches across central and Eastern North Carolina and central and Eastern Virginia and into lower Maryland Eastern shore. I do NOT consider this to be a significant change given that the event is still more than three days out... this is what I would call modeled variance .

Models continue show temperatures falling Saturday morning for a 20s. Ths means that the snow ratio is are not going to be 10:1 to 13 :1 or 14:1 . This implies that the actual final snow amounts when the event and on may be somewhat higher than what most forecasts and the model data are currently depicting."

Not only is it going to snow in Raleigh, it's going to snow at the beach. American model has east of Raleigh getting the heaviest.

What's funny is Fishel has been really hesitant to project any of this, I really think that guy has gotten so much shit from people that he's afraid to be wrong haha.

So 1 inch in the triangle then.

I'd be impressed with that. Would shut down the surrounding areas for a bit and with it super cold Sunday...sticking around.

If anything falls, with the extreme cold no salt/slurry spray road treatment will be effective.

A couple inches? Just enough to halt weekend plans.

6+ inches? I mean, sorta fun and uncommon for us.

EDIT: something something penis size

if there's anything more than 3-4 inches, it'll stick around for a while....plenty of melt/refreeze will occur to make roads hazardous after the event ends Sat evening through Tuesday morning

Ground temp is roughly 50 degrees right now and today was the warmest it will be for awhile, ground temps will be fine by the time this rolls around on Friday night, especially given the overcast conditions.
