i bought a second wii about a month ago (got lucky at best buy) and sold it to my gf's dad for cost. i could have made money on it, but seeing her grandparents battle each other in tennis was well worth the $150 profit. now if i find another wii by chance...it's going on ebay.

it was actually really cool to see my girlfriend, her sister and her bf, their mom and dad, and their grandparents take turns playing each other in wii sports and getting extremely competitive. the wii is one of those once in a lifetime products that bridges generational gaps.

Wii Sports is fun and all... but not for very long. It's very shallow, IMO. I don't see how people can play it as long as they do and still enjoy it.

so I downloaded the "Check Mii Out" channel and was looking the some of the Miis on there; there must be something with the Mii editor that I'm completely missing. How are people making all these crazy Mii's? There's one Mii on there that just as an ass for a face. No eyes, no nose, no mouth... just 2 buttcheeks. There's also Darth Vader, Chewbaca, Link, etc..

What am I missing here? is there something else you have to download? I don't see the "butt cheeks" feature on my mii editor selection screen.

For the most part people are just really, really creative with how they use the facial features. I've actually downloaded some of them just to see how they're created, unfortunately you can't edit other people's Miis, even after you import them to your own console

I've already made Ike Broflovski from South Park and Carl from Aqua Teen, but nobody seems to like them

You have to get creative. Like, really creative. most of these are made by placing eyebrows/eyes extremely high/low, things like that...

and no, I haven't bowled a 300 because bowling just doesn't hold my interest enough to get me to invest that much time in it. I just wish it was more responsive.

i like the miis that have a jet or a butterfly or something else odd instead of a face. wtf how do you make that shit?

i mean, i understand that they use different facial features in weird sizes in odd places, but i don't have the time or patience to be that creative.

on the other hand, the contests they run on "check mii out" suck. about 75% of the miis submitted don't meet the criteria nor do they even remotely resemble whatever they're supposed to look like. take the "mario w/o his cap" contest. most of the marios had fucking hats on. wtf people? read!

I guess I kinda see it now, the harder I look at it. you start to see how people spread out huge eyebrows really far apart to make them look like ears/horns/antennea/whatever..

http://miiplaza.net/ has a bunch of really creative ones, and some not so creative ones. There's several on there that have me flat out stumped as to how they were made.

I got my component cables. I can tell there is a significant jump in picture quality from 480i to 480p. It is probably less notable on smaller TVs though.

have any of you guys played gamecube games?

i borrowed mario kart and put it into the wii, then i used a $7 knock off game cube controller i got from gamestop.

well i got through one race, then the screen flashes and the wii cuts off, only to show a yellow light.

i press power, reset and nothing happens. i had to end up disconnecting the power plug in the back and reconnecting it. im going to return the controller.

has anyone had this happen?

Nintendo Power just reported a new Sega All-Stars Tennis game coming up next year that is a suped up version of Wii Tennis.

while i am a bigger fan of the Mario remakes, i won't be able to pass up on a good Tennis game for the Wii.
