I was at a friend's place near downtown Cary when the storm hit... he lost power. I get home and one of my Bradford Pear trees had snapped off and landed on the deck out back at my place. Luckily it missed the house... but DAMMIT!

WX Station on the house recorded a max gust windspeed of 18 mph

it's been storming big time here since 630ish. almost constant thunder, tons of lightning that looks like it's right over the house, quarter sized hail (one of the cats got hit in the head by one while running for cover), sirens every 20 mins or so, at least 2 BIG limbs down in the backyard. this is some crazy stuff. the water covered the whole width of the street in front of my house for a while & i've never seen it flood like that before.

When Quinn and I put up a satellite dish in my backyard a while ago, it went out a grand total of three times in about 3 years.

DirecTV came and set up a new dish last week. It's already gone out once.
