What the hell is up with partyeastcarolina and partyheels needing to have a damn user name and password to read posts? You don't have to have one for here...and not just because I'm a NCSU student/fan, but the blue on partyheels looks gayer than gay....

yeah but w/o ppl even being able to view it and evaluate it b4 purchasing it(provided they aren't a unc student) it lowers the chances of the board growing. even with unc students, they might not take the time to register if they don't get to see whats on the board first. seems like they have a good plan for keeping the board un-used

^beat me to the response, it's all about getting a decent user base, it's a new message board and people aren't likely to join if they think no one else is there, same reason for all the partyincollege sites started out w/ a fake list of users and a fake list of theads already started

Joe and I had this debate, he sided with your point, but I was thinking it might get people to sign up instead of just browsing around.

yeah, you have to let people see what's being said...once they read enough and want to participate, then they'll sign up

and once they discover the photo gallery, that's what will hook some of them

It would make more sense to me to let the people see the website, just where the registered people have the "Reply to Topic" button (or whatever it's labeled as for the UNC website), it just wouldn't be there. They could read, just not respond. What they're doin now is stupid, for sure.
