Heres how you keep the cops out of it. It can only be accessed by an ip address on one of the LANs for the dorms. Cops cant get in. Yes it would be slower for that section, but being able to post parties make up for it.

i think perhaps an anti-lurkers section would be an idea to debate---so that only ncsu students or long time members could see it---ie no police and perhaps it would eliminate some of the concern people have with picracy in tech talk because they feel that it is too easy for people to track them down---i don't care either way

Even though I live on campus, I'm not online in my room cuz my pre-cambrian computer is too old for RESNET. So I can get online only in a school computer lab. I'm sure there are other students that aren't online at home, as well.

Why not have a (legal) party forum, and use AIM to discuss "illegal" details?

..... as I've said before, why do you think it is hard to find parties.... your neighbors call them in non-stop. We do not care if you are having parties, we only care when your annoying neighbors call and demand that we enforce the noise ordinance so that they can get some sleep. To avoid this...invite your neighbors to the party.

The only parties we care about are 500 people and up....

oh, as far as computer access... do you really think that of all the thousands of people that have access there aren't at least a few wannabe cop's that would love to annoy us w/ 'hot tips' on parties?
