Maybe this has been covered before, and I've missed it, but why does my post count show up differently in different sections? As of this post, I'm showing 970 when I look at my posts in Tech Talk, but 981 in the Lounge. What gives?

Its got to do with the caching implemented on the server. Basically the way the website is set up the server only queries the database when it generating a page when a topic has been modified. This means that page views aren't updated for the section page until someone posts on a topic, and that the posts for a topic aren't updated until there is a new post. All of the html for a page is cached until a topic is modified with a post.
