i got my period when i was 14 at my grandmothers house.
i was so embarresed when she called up my dad and was like YOU KNOW SHE GOT HER PERIOD.
anyways i only knew what was taught in school, so i went to the corner store by myself and bought pantyliners because they were cheaper....i didnt know the difference, lets just say i kept wondering why the hell i was bleeding so much that the 'pad' never held it all.
mine lasts about 7 days and my back kills me on the second day.
i used pads, sometimes tampons but i get scared that i may leave them in too long

toxic shock can kill you

but technically you're supposed to be able to leave the tampon in for up to 8 hours. so you could sleep with it in but it's up to you. although toxic shock is rare, it does happen and like liz said, its on the rise again. i dont know if its because the bacteria is mutating so its stronger or if girls are becoming careless with tampons again but its not something you joke about

and you dont have to leave a tampon in overnight. you can use a pad.
