I'm curious as to how the "after Wind Waker" part is pulled off, though. But I'm confident I'll be satisfied no matter what they do.

This game looks abso-fucking-lutely spectacular. I cannot wait for this to come out. In fact, maybe I should seriously consider pre-ordering it. I've never pre-ordered anything, though, how does one go about doing it? Do I have to go to the Nintendo website or just go to any store that plans on having the game in stock or what?

The Link in this new Zelda could be the same Link from Wind Waker, grown up.. he has traveled to a new world and it is taken over by some evil force...(not necessarily ganon/ganondorf or a villain we have seen before)..

I read somewhere that they expect the new Zelda game to get a teen rating. I hope the music in the trailer is in the actual game. Sounds like high quality stuff.

I beat Zelda 2. If you know your way around the final dungeon (IOW use a guide), it's not that bad. Although fighting Shadow Link is a bitch.

I knew that as soon as I got an Xbox, the new zelda would finally come out. Grrr...

This game looks great, but just like an extension of the OoT and MM series. Graphics and baddies have improved. Here's hoping that fighting is more challenging. Man, that game just looks awesome.

How much are used Xboxes going for these days?

When the GC came out I was in high school and was too busy playing PC games to think about getting one. I was always super interested in The Legend of Zelda series though.

When I got to college I played the original Super Smash Brothers for N64 and spent countless nights playing it. Then one of my gaming friends got a GC and Super Smash Brothers. He later became my roommate so I didn't have a need to buy one. I wish I had though, cause now I am living at home for a co-op and all these awesome games are coming out that I can't play . I keep thinking of getting a Gamecube, but then I have to get a TV too cause the one I have now is crap so I just keep convincing myself to hang in there until the next Nintendo console comes out (as it was mentioned before, it will be backwards compatible) so I can play all these awesome games. I did the same thing with the DS/GBA and it worked out, but I know it is just gonna suck between the time that this new LOZ game comes out and the next GC console comes out (which probably is gonna be a year at the very bare minimum).

I actually liked the way Wind Waker looked. Besides, after playing for a couple of hours, I stopped noticing the graphics style anyway because I was into the gameplay.

But yeah, the new one looks tight.

there are rumors going around that this game may also involve turning into different animals to accomplish certain tasks.. the wolf at the end of the trailer could allude to this.. also, in one part of the trailer, we see the "view" change and all of a sudden you can see ghosts and what looks like a "scent" to follow.
I can't wait for this game.

well, if they are gonna have a mount they need to ride something. if they were gonna ride a horse it wouldnt really make them look evil. so they were giving a warthog to ride, not a wolf/warg as in lord of the rings. so no...it doesnt really remind me of LOTR at all, no more than any other epic movie/game.

I think the game is being released this year.

1. Nintendo needs a big "holiday" release and there isn't a better candidate than Zelda. So unless they have some big surprises for E3 like, say, Mario 128 (which would be really nice), then Zelda is an absolute necessity this Christmas.
2. Next year Nintendo will release the Revolution, essentially killing all development for the GC, and big releases almost never happen the final year of a system's lifespan.

Ocarina also had an all-new system for controls, items, and battle. The new game will mostly borrow from that.
