i try to reason with them and make them understand

for example, when they ask me my name. i try to tell them that it wouldn't do anything good cause a)if i told the truth that my name was chris (which it is), they'd think the person (who they think it their friend) is messing with them or b)if i didn't tell the truth, they would never know the difference
