Hell yes. I've been dying to hear some of the new stuff. That song is awesome too, even with the shitty radio rip quality.
Here's the album cover and track listing:
Ghost of perdition The baying of the hounds Beneath the mire Atonement Reverie/Harlequin forest Hours of wealth The grand conjuration Isolation years

I'm digging this song more and more with each listen. Akerfeldt's growls sound more evil than evil, and the solo in the middle of the song is

Somehow, people in the ultimate metal Opeth forum have heard 3 songs and I've only heard 'The Grand Conjuration'
I can't seem to find the other 2 in the forum or peer programs.
Anyone happen to have these. Aug 30th is a long ways away 7/24/2005 11:37:18 AM |

This album took me a few listens to get into, but now I'm loving it. They've really outdone themselves on this record. At first I was a bit worried about Per Wiberg becoming a permanent member, but he does a great job blending the keys into the heavier tunes. This has potential to remove My Arms, Your Hearse and Morningrise as my favorite Opeth albums.
Isolation Years has to be the best Opeth album closer of all time.....reminds me of Epilogue, but better.
That guitar line in the beginning of Atonement

Atonement is bordering on straight up Fusion
Which doesnt really surprise me given the jazziness present in alot of their solos and softer melodies 7/26/2005 6:24:27 PM |

OMG This album is beyond what I ever expected. It's so fucking good that I'm completely jealous of their level of genius.
I have to say that after about 5 full listens, this is not only my favorite Opeth album but my favorite album ever from any band. They have so much going on that there is something new to focus on with each listen. I thought they might be going downhill after listening to Deliverance, but this is a whole new direction for them and I think it is the most incredible music I've ever heard. Everything is incredible, but I think what stands out the most is Mike's singing. He has come along way. 7/30/2005 9:39:58 PM |
