The first Katamari was great, one of the best games of the year. Very rarely do games with as much innovation get released in the US.

I got the first one because my girlfriend was walking through Best Buy with me, saw the cover and picked it up because she was really confused. It looked interesting and was cheap, so I said what the hell. A couple hours later I still can't say it made any sense, but I knew it was a lot of fun to play with. Now I want to get it back out again after seeing this. Especially after being told there's a good chance I'll get this game for my birthday in a couple weeks.

^^Basically the purpose is to grow your ball to a certain size (speicified by your father) before the time limit (also specified by your father) expires. As the goals get bigger, the stuff you can roll up gets more rediculous (i.e. cars, planes, oil tankers, stadiums, giant squid, clouds, godzilla, etc.)

Yeah, normal stages are "get it at least this big in this amount of time". But there are also a lot of other stages like "get the katamari as close to 10 meters as possible" or "get the biggest bear possible". That last one is hard because you can only get one bear, and the level is covered in bear-related stuff. You can be trying to get your katamari big enough to get the giant bear, but you accidentally roll over a bear figurine and the level is over.

I hated the cow one. My ball had gotten fairly large so it had started to zoom out and I picked up a stupid do not steal the cows sign or something like that.
