I wonder how an infant feels about being a punishment to its mother.

If the woman has to carry the child to term, then the infant should be raised by the father.

a mother who doesn't want the child is a much better care taker than a father who doesn't want the child

natural instincts are a bitch

unless its a coked out whore
then that baby is a cooked goose

because it's not simply a religious issue.

i have qualms about abortion that are purely medical and moral, and wholly seperate from any sort of tenets of religion.

i mean, really, what it boils down to is when you consider an unborn baby to be a human, and that's a scientific/philosophical question, not a religious question.

i don't think that there's a case to be made that human life begins at birth. i'm not, however, convinced that human life begins at conception...and those are the only two convenient places to draw a hard line, so that's where most people gravitate. being very pragmatic vice ideological, i tend to think that somewhere in the middle might be the right answer...

although there's a school of thought that says "if we aren't sure where human life begins, we should err on the side of not slaughtering babies", which is a line of reasoning i can at least respect, even if i don't really subscribe to it.

that would have almost been a merit-worthy strikeout, if only it had made any sense...

^Most people don't think that abortion in the first month should be illegal, or that abortion in the last month should be legal. However, the loudest voices on the issue fall at one extreme or the other.

yeah I had to go back and re-read that, I'll retract my earlier comment. I had just never heard/read anyone lump the pro-abortion folks in under a banner of "abortion activists", that label was always reserved for describing the pro-lifers...

Being pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion.

Men should have the option to pay for half of an abortion or half of what it costs to raise a kid.

The man lost his right to chose anything when he gave his sperm to a woman. Sorry, biology doesn't really allow for any indian givers in this scenario.

I don't think there are many men who want to keep their sperm. I was talking about $$.
