fucking sweet man

I was really close friends with the owner of HPJ since my freshman year of HS, but he's too good for me now

he was actually with me when I crashed my atv last year, only seen him like 2 times since... I guess if I had a fast car he'd hang out with me

I wonder if the F-Body will keep its following and be a "classic".

to rephrase:

I wonder if the immediate last F-Bodies will be seen in car history as classics or if they will just keep the hick stigma. There will always be people who see them a certain way.

Its like finding someone who loves the Edisel. Even if some people like it there is a "mass-perception" and a label the car still has.

Right now, even though there are a few very nice F-Bodies around, they are largely seen as a redneck car.

yes, many people, including myself, see these cars as redneck cars. yet somehow i have a feeling that when we go to look at it this weekend, it may be coming home with us

Which might be part of the reason why they didn't sell very well towards the end and were obviously discontinued.

Owned 3 3rd gens 84 HO 305 5 speed Trans Am, 86 1LE IROC TPI 305 auto and a 92 RS 305 auto. They are fair cars till about 80k. Then they just fall apart. I prolly had the most fun with the 84 though. I would be nice to see one with a LS-1 6 speed though it would probally rip the car in half. What year are you lookin @?

I think the Z28's and SS's are gonna end up being pretty collectable years down the road.

I still get a ton of positive comments on mine personally.

so much for that- just got an email from the guy saying that his mom sold the car for the full asking price. kinda fucked up since we had arranged to come to charlotte and everything this weekend and he had already basically made a deal with joel that he could have it. he could've at least called.

4th gen F-bodies will take a long long time if ever to have any value. My 97 Formula Firebird still looks fresh from the factory. Its a fun car but I'm not holding on to it for value, just fun, till it starts breaking and costing a fortune which will probably be very soon.

I had an '89 Camaro for 3 years, an '02 Camaro for 2 years, and a '68 Camaro 396 SS that I'll be holding onto for a long damn time.

After a retainer decided to sh*t the bed, and a rocker arm decided to depart...
And then, after #6 decided that it wanted to run lean and get hot and...yeah...fuse the ring into the side of the damn hypereutectic piston
(NOTE--IF YOU BUILD A 355/383/388/396 OUT OF AN LT1, DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT FORGED. LEARN FROM MY PAIN
Annnd then, after it took a nice 200 shot on the gas....just kidd'n, my fingers are crossed that nothing else expensive happens...

I still love my F-body, even if it is a rotten little monster.

^Hey where'd ya get that lite bar at and how much did it set ya back? I really think I'd like to get one of those in my 'vertible too, but I don't see too many Firebirds or Camaros with them.

it runs fine, but it has an electrical problem... battery is fine, alternator is fine (got them tested), but the battery gauge still jumps all over the place, which dims my lights, etc. Something is lose somewhere, but I can't find it... Hopefully RPM can look at it tomorrow when they install my cutout...
