native kernel support, and in 2.6.13 (or even any of the recent release candidates) it'll even have native monitor mode and WPA/WPA2 support...

mine always had great reception - better than a dlink, netgear, or integrated ones in any of my parents or siblings' laptops....it also has a port for an external antenna which is also pretty cheap on ebay. can't give you anything quantitative though

only 802.11b though, so if that's a problem....ah well

oh, and it uses the orinoco driver

the best 802.11g card i could find when i was looking was a mini-pci prism54 based one...don't remember the name of it, but it was something like "xg600" made by some noname company. don't have it anymore, but it worked well before i ended up gutting it out of my laptop.

next laptop will have an ipw2200 chip, hopefully (http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/)
