I was looking at an RCA Lyra but I'm drifting away from that thanks to Cnet

the Archos devices are intriguing
especially the AV420 and the AV700

however, I need to make sure they have the following features:

1. Audio input. I need to be able to record audio and I need it to be worth a damn.

2. Video input. I'd like to be able to record video and I'd like it to be worth a damn.

3. Durability. I tend to put a beating on things I own. I don't need it to be all flimsy and shit.
