What kind of sound are you looking for? Gretsches and Rickenbackers are pretty one-dimensional IMO, but they're awesome dimensions.
There's a HUGE Rickenbacker dealer in Knightdale, but you have to set up an appointment to try 'em out if I remember correctly because he's technically mail order only due to some sales territory stuff.

Epiphone actually makes a pretty good version of the ES 335 called the "Dot". I researched it a while back and they are identical except for the pickups and the Epi comes w/ a plastic nut. I bought one, threw some 57 Classic pickups in and got a bone nut. The thing plays great...and I put less than $600 in it total. 8/8/2005 3:54:25 PM |
