The little box popped up on my computer to "install windows updates". I figured that it would be fine to just click ok, so I did. I don't really know what happened from there except it told me to restart me computer and I did just that. Now my computer won't turn on. It'll turn on and then shut off and then turn back on to a Blue Screen that says something like c000218...fatal error and something about can not run windows. Won't let me do anything after that.
I am the worst person with all this stuff and don't even know where to start to fix the problem. Can anyone help?!?! THANKS A TON! 8/10/2005 11:00:44 AM |

have you left your computer running for an extremely long time since restarting it? If so, then my guess is you have virus corruption. 8/10/2005 11:37:02 AM |

I'll post the full code as soon as my roommate wakes up (I'm at work)
As for leaving my computer on, it stays on and connected to the internet 95% of the time. I hardly shut it off. But this all started right after I restarted it....I updated it and left it for a while before restarting it. Is there a virus through the "windows update"??

no
you should be able to reinstall without formatting, and it'll just install right over the OS and leave the data
or
you should have a restore disc that you could do a recovery with. 8/10/2005 3:52:58 PM |
