Anybody ever play this about 5 years ago? It was fucking awesome and realistic. Apparently Jane's and EA have gone their seperate ways and now I can't find anything even remotely similar...

Just like that B-52 Stratofortress game and Jane's 688I in the 90's, no, it wasn't action... but I enjoyed teh strategery. 8/10/2005 1:09:09 PM |

Yeah, Jane's was pretty damn good. I was a surface warfare officer at the time, and already used to all the weaposn systems and displays, etc. It was like sitting in the Combat Information Center on my destroyer. Which, of course, made it a little less fun because it was like working on my free time. 8/10/2005 2:37:48 PM |

There is a new sim called "dangerous waters" that is produced by sonologic. They did the sonar part of janes 688. It's basically a rehash of 688 but the demo was fun. 8/10/2005 8:28:58 PM |

I wish I could get this game to work again.
Janes' was coming out with some awesome games about 5-7 years ago. I lost countless hours playing Fighters Anthology when I was a Sr. in HS.
Fleet Command was awesome. I also loved Longbow and 688I.
