is obsurd

I am having a problem with Mail not sending emails and crashing and their "product specialist" said that his final answer is that it is a "feature that doesn't agree to my needs"

i said to escalate my call and he said there is no more escalation beyond him, and that if i continued to ask irrelevant questions that he would be inclined to disconnect the call.

so i asked him if he needed to have the sand washed out of his vagina and he hung up on me

christ they're such assholes.

Call apple back and complain, that's not something they'll stand for.

What's the problem anyway?

every time i send an email with text pasted from programs like safari or even textpad it crashes.

im not sure why that wouldn't be "allowed" but apparently it's a feature I need to get used to.

Have you tried a permissions repair?

I have the time and first name, and he wouldn't give me his badge # or anything, saying that they don't have them

Yea, I did that along with a bunch of other things. I used Cocktail to clear all the caches, logfiles, and stuff.

Per the suggestion of the "specialist" I tried creating a new user account, but ran into the same problems.

You're right, it was dumb, but it was one of those things you say without much thought. This cocksucker got the best of me and I lost my cool. It isn't like he was going to start being polite or not hang up on me anyways.

Hmm... have you tried reinstalling Mail.app? You can either just drag the app over from another OS X installation, or use a program called Pacifist to just pull that particular app from the OS X disc.

They probably don't. None of our techs at the store do.

I second either reinstalling mail.app or going into ~/Library/Preferences and removing (to the desktop, don't trash it yet) "com.apple.mail.plist

I deleted all the Mail preferences, even the Mail folder that contained all my emails (i use IMAP so it wasn't a big deal to synchronize back)

Even when creating a new user with new preferences and everything, it still crashed. I'm gonna try to see if I can just get Mail.app reinstalled, and if not, I'll reinstall the entire OS

Is Mail the only app you have that doesn't like stuff being pasted in to it?

if you feel like bitching just call back and ask to speak to a manager. otherwise just brush it off and call back again for another tech.
