there is this black plastic vacuum pot that has one vac line going to it

i desperately need to know what this is called

and no, its not a NGR valve.

it appears to possibly control a flap in the inlet to the SC downstream of the MAF

OK! its the "boost bypass valve"

now if i plug the vac line to eliminate any leak will my car be driveable? this would only be temporary untill monday when i can hopefully get a new one.

i broke off the connection for the vac line

should be ok to drive easily. it's just a valve to bleed off excessive boost when you're on it and to relieve pressure when you lift the throttle quickly. very similar to a bov/bpv on a turbo car.

i wonder how much this will cost

the $35 valve was actually the solenoid, the actuator itself is $192 god damn dollars

thats half the price of a rebuilt SC !
