My computer came with a

-dvd drive
-cdrw drive (burned tons of cds with it)

i bought an internal dvdrw drive

-took out said cdrw drive
-put in dvdrw drive

NOW...(i use Nero), it registers an "image burning cdrw" device, which is cool for DVD burning usage, but when I burn a cd, it goes through this image saving process and ultimately, even though nero says burn process complete, the cd won't play.

SO...

-took out dvd drive
-put in old cdrw drive

and NOW it won't even recognize the Cd-rw drive...it just says its the dvd drive that i originally had.

HELP PLZ

I actually haven't burned a CD in a long time. Ever since I got that free iPod.

It's probably a driver issue. Make sure the proper driver are installed for the proper drive. Reinstalling or updating NERO might help as well. As usual, google in a valuable resource. I'm sure you're not the first one to have this problem. BTW, why not run all 3 drives? No room?

yeah.. you'll probably want to uninstall the drivers, and as of right now you'll probably want to uninstall all the drivers to the cd-rw and dvd-rw and start again

just go to your control panel, click the system icon, hit the hardware tab and go to the device manager.. (assuming XP)
remove the old and it should auto-install a new driver after a reboot

might fix the burning issue, might not, but it probably will atleast make the drive work again
