Turn the machine on.

Remote in from campus.

well lets see... I turn the fucker on and I get no POST beeps. I've got it connected to a router but the router never registers that it is connected. Seems to me that something is going wrong, but w/ no POST beeps, I CANT TELL WHAT THE FUCK IT IS, JACKASS. now, are you actually going to give any advice or are you going to keep being a condescending prick?

Take the ram out and boot. It'll give a beep code without any ram. That will let you know the system is posting.




Just go find someone down the hall and hand'em $5. Tell them you need the monitor for like, 2 seconds.




Be careful though, you dont want them to think you know about computers or else you'll have a line outside your door of people and their virus/spyware infected compaqs.

If there is no floppy drive attached, a lot of BIOSes will throw the error

"Floppy disk(s) fail" and halt

No POST beep, no nothing

You not having a floppy drive might be the problem.

Try hitting F1 and waiting.
