Parent company discontinues Rio line D&M Holdings, which markets the Rio brand, today announced it would exit the mass-market portable digital audio player business. D&M Holdings is based in Tokyo and owns the Denon, Marantz, McIntosh Laboratory, D&M Professional, ReplayTV, Rio and Escient brands. It's a shame. They've been making portable digital audio players as long as anybody. Atleast Denon is still going to be around. 8/26/2005 10:05:48 AM |

It is really sad that the maker of arguably one of the best DAP's (Rio Karma) is finally gone. When will any of the other makers learn that gapless playback is something that EVERY player should have. 8/26/2005 1:36:38 PM |
