1991 Wrangler I6., 5 Spd
When I turned the key forward I hear this knocking or click sound (sounds like the starter solenoid) but then nothing happens. So I let off and turn it forward again, knocks again. It does this about 5 or 6 times then I on the 10th time or so it starts.
I have just replaced the starter about 4 months ago. I can't believe this thing is about to go again. It sounds like just the solenoid but im not sure. 8/26/2005 8:13:33 PM |

yea check the wires and makes sure they are good and tight , i replaced my startrer only to find it was a lose wire that was causing the porblems. if u need a starter i have a bosch remanufactured starter that i bought for my zj that should fit, i'll give u a good price on it. good luck 8/27/2005 1:41:34 PM |

I checked all the grounds (on the block and the firewall) cleaned them, checked the terminals, played with the cables, so its gotta be the starter again. 8/27/2005 4:16:26 PM |

I talked to a guy today that said it could be my steering column. Its a tilt wheel and he said that there could be a line up problem. 8/29/2005 8:49:16 PM |
