Anybody upgraded to Tiger and have a copy of Panther lying around? I'm got an old Imac running Jaguar that I'd like to upgrade slightly.

the bookstore has old panther cd's availble for 5 or 10 bucks each... full versions... official.

I went yesterday and was quoted $45. WTF!

The IT guys on Hillsborough said the bookstore had a few copies left and were pretty much giving them away ($5-$15.) Any idea who to talk to over there?

yeah, either ed phelps, jacob wisner, or bill blades (manager who decided to price them at that). they're supposed to be sold at 10 bucks. if someone's quoting you more than that, it's because they don't know what they're talking about.

its probably some newbie at the bookstore (staff changes just about every month) quoting them on tiger which if I recall is $45

tiger is 69.00, but panther WAS 45.00 when you worked there smoothcrim. but yeah, it's probably a temp/newbie/drunk guy who doesn't know it's supposed to be cheaper.
