where would be the best place to buy a mm175 in raleigh? I've seen em for 675.75 off ebay shipped to my house. would that be the cheapest I'm going to find em or does anyone know a dealer around here that would be around that price? thanks 8/30/2005 3:44:01 PM |

http://www.cyberweld.com that's where i got mine from. i think it was like 650 shipped w/ a free regulator, spool of wire, and some extra tips. i got a sweet deal on a top of the line miller auto dark helmet too for ordering at the same time. 8/30/2005 3:54:57 PM |

eh, nevermind... looks like they've gone up some. you might want to consider a hobart, basically the exact same machine as a miller just doesnt have the infinite voltage/wire speed controls and a couple of the internal parts are plastic vs. metal. it's ~100 bucks cheaper in most cases. 8/30/2005 4:00:06 PM |

I think the miller definitely has a better quality wirefeed roller setup.
I think Lincoln and Hobart are both mostly plastic, and don't hold up really well over the long haul. 8/30/2005 4:41:13 PM |

well i'm pretty set on miller, my cousin has a lot of experience with welders, building boat lifts, fire truck equipment and he only uses miller. i know the hobarts are essentially the same machine, but i think some of their parts are harder to find. i know that miller parts will be pretty easy to come by if need be. i have checked out cyberweld, but that ebay deal didn't look too bad either. they both have free shipping which is a really good thing. what kind of helmets do yall have? i'm lookin at an autodarkening one, but am not sure which one would be the best for the least money. 8/30/2005 4:48:05 PM |

i got a hobart 175. been doin great for the 2 or 3 years ive had it. half the parts say miller on it, i wouldnt say there is too much difference in the quality. only real difference is the amp selector knob has 4 clicks, as compared to ivans that is infinitely adjustable. 8/31/2005 8:13:22 AM |

See I'm thinking that the infinite adjustability will be good for me because I'm probably going to be doing some sheetmetal work so can the hobart 175 get down to doing sheetmetal well? 8/31/2005 10:26:48 AM |
