so i re-installed my windows XP. I have a Gateway but I used my roommates Dell disk. Now it's telling me to activate the program. So I have enterted the Bar Code exactly like it is taped printed. It keeps telling me it not the correct code. My roommates have checked it for me and they can't get it to work. I know I am looking at the right lable too. It matches it picture. Anyone know what I should do? Is it because I used her Dell disk?>

rule of thumb is not to mix brand system disks, i'm surprised it ran it that well. call some techies about it, you'll be on hold forever but ask for someone that speaks clear english and they'll know what they're talking about.

it isn't the correct code, the dell disk only looks for the code from dell, not a code from gateway
