puzzled on how usb headsets work... is the sound still being processed by the soundcard or is that bypassed when using a usb headset? 8/30/2005 8:00:43 PM |

Thus you now have 2 soundcards
and hence music doesn't sound good enough if you use cheaper USB headsets. 8/30/2005 9:51:30 PM |

Soundcards don't do much anymore. Programmers stopped writing code for them. Take Half Life 2 for example. All the sound processing is done on the CPU. If it was sent to the soundcard, you could have 10% higher framerates. 8/30/2005 10:52:55 PM |

I use the USB headset that came with SOCOM for my PC now. Teamspeak allows me to have voice through the ear piece and game sounds through the speakers. I love the setup and have been running like this for over a year. Much nicer than having to wear a full headset. 8/31/2005 2:34:46 AM |
