didn't see a thread for this man, wondering why. what, with all the harry potter/lord of the rings fans we have on this site, I figured someone other than me or rjrgirl had read his series. I love his books, but I think he draws a little too much info from Tolkin, because a lot of crazy things are named for things from the prequel book to hobbit/lord of the rings. I can't remember the name of it, but I know I have read it enought to know the lore. lol. anyway, other than the crazy similarities b/w Paolini and Tolkin, it's an awsome series.

i read eragon a couple years ago, as i recall. it was an entertaining enough book, but i didn't think it had much in the way of originality. like you, i thought it was pretty similiar to tolkien, as well as a couple other fantasy authors. i'll probably read his new book eventually.

decent enough author for a teenager.
