why the hell do you keep refering the looters and such as black... i mean shit that has to be one of the most racist things ive heard. There is more than one race in that city. and more than one white trailer park im sure... 9/2/2005 1:22:00 AM |

^becuase EVERY SINGLE LOOTER (shown on tv)
EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE SUPERDOME is black
im sorry dude, im not being rascist. they are simply all black for some reason.
well actually i know the reason, but to explain it to your would take to long and youd probably still cry rascism.

If the evacuation was mandatory, why didn't the gov't provide buses etc. to move the people who don't own cars? 9/2/2005 9:49:43 AM |

Quote : | "Mandatory Evacuation Ordered for New Orleans as Storm Nears
By CHRISTINE HAUSER and THOMAS J. LUECK Published: August 28, 2005
In televised remarks today, President Bush urged people in threatened areas to evacuate to safe ground. "We cannot stress enough the danger this hurricane poses to Gulf Coast communities," Mr. Bush said, adding that everything possible would be done to help them." |

No, they just didn't expect the fucking city to flood! Had they known, they probably would have acted differently. But most hurricanes don't require complete evacuation, merely refuge until the storm passes, the waters subside, and everyone can go home. Regretfully, the water subsided INTO the city, instead of out of it. 9/2/2005 10:16:38 AM |

Whenever the city is below sea level and floods on a regular rainy day, the government knows that it will flood for a hurricane. If you have ever been to NO you know they close the gates to the city when it rains to stop water. And whoever said it was absolutely correct, if they wanted ppl out they should have provided transportation for them to get out before the fact. New Orleans is definitely one of the poorest if not the poorest city in the US (by city I mean place that the majority of ppl have heard of not just residence). It has all turned into one big mess and regardless of the situation someone needs to go in there and help these ppl before there isn't anyone else to help. 9/2/2005 10:41:02 AM |

I agree with Josh on everything he said in this thread.
I dont know how accurate that pic that moron put up is because the liberal press would never blantantly call a black kid a negro boy.

And where would you propose that they moved the people on the buses to? ANYONE with common sense knows that if a Cat. 5 hurricane is moving in your area, you evacuate. If it was a Cat. 1 or 2, then thats a different story, but you get out in a Cat. 5.9/2/2005 10:55:07 AM |

They could have moved them to Texas just as they are moving them now (or were moving them rather). And you prove my point.... if it's a Cat 5 EVERYONE needs to evacuate including the poor, which means when you take a job of public service, you need to do ALL YOU CAN to help them. 9/2/2005 10:57:05 AM |

What kind of logic is that?
You justify not sending buses in because there's nowhere to take them, but expect them to get out on their own and figure out where they should go?
Also, it was a category 1 hurricane until about 24 hours before it hit the city. People without TVs, telephones, or radios would not have gotten the message in time.

Or they could have just walked down the street. Those boards and such are not being put up for no reason. Assuming these people do work, I would say that they didnt go to work because they knew it was comming. Also, with the media all around asking them what they are going to do, they might get the picture. 9/2/2005 11:14:12 AM |

Ultimately, it's ridiculous to assume that the message reached everyone.
I don't think you realize how poverty stricken many areas of New Orleans are. The fact is that there were thousands of people who had no means to leave the area and had no means to receive information about the severity of the situation. 9/2/2005 11:59:53 AM |
