As a friend remarked this evening, nobody's afraid of America after this. A nation that fucks up so colossally is more the object of pity than respect. So much for the old "shock and awe" business.

The country is still functional. A lot of Louisiana isn't, but I don't see how that deserves us pity from the rest of the world. Most people in this country are sad, but they keep going about our daily lives. Even the spike in gas has people complaining, but they just complain and keep filling.

How functional is a country that permits conditions like those in New Orleans? From the sorry mess you're nation has made of Iraq to its lame response to Katrina, there's good reason to think that America is just isn't up to its self-appointed role as world's policeman. Instead of "Team America: World Police" it should be "Team America: Has-Beens and Fuck-Ups."

I had Gumbo for dinner last night at Porter's City Tavern.

It was pretty good.

Fuck you. Get the fuck out of the country then.

It's choads like you--people who have no sense of ownership for this country whatsoever--that are absolutely worthless. What have YOU done? Have you served in the military? Do you vote? Do you actively contribute to and assist politcal campaigns? Do you write to elected officials? Have you run for office yourself? Have you donated time, money or supplies to the relief effort? Or do you just sit around complaining about how no one else is fixing problems to your standards?

^^Lucky for me, I'm not an American. Thus, I have no "sense of ownership" for your country.

ok, then keep crying.

We'll eventually get around to oppressing your country if we haven't already.

From the available evidence, I'd say your sorry country isn't up to the task of oppressing anybody. And that's a good thing -- the one positive the world can take away from Katrina.

I would be more afraid of America at this point if I were a third world country 'cause a weakened America is going to look for some way to reassert itself after this, and what better way to do that than to blow up another country.

So what country are you from? That way we can talk shit about your insignificant, pissant little country.

And if the USA is so horrible, why are you on TWW? What's your connection to NCSU?

Well, hopefully sometime in the future America can give your country the finger when you come begging for help of some form. In the meantime, how about you go fornicate yourself with a metal rod.

^^ my bad. I'm always the last to hear about these things.

30th is correct, Australia coppies just about everything it can from the US and UK, except they seem to have more racism and serial rapists. There are some charming aspects of Australia, but it isn't the utopia oasis it appears to be.

Another positive thing... A lot of New Orleans was pretty shitty and hopefully it will be rebuilt better than ever... (this is what people from New Orleans have told me)...
