I got a new laptop screen in place of the one I broke. LCD for HP ZE4900-ZE5600 laptop.

Problem: I can only get 1024x768 as my max resolution when the box says it can get up to 1280x1024. I tried the original drivers CD with the video driver and it didn't up the resolution capability.

Any help?

Also... the instructions said something worded very strangely about getting a floppy disk with the EEPROM from the system utilities disk. What is that?

No.

I installed the screen. I bought the screen. The specs are correct and so is the model number.

what resolution could you run with the old screen? could be that the video hardware and driver don't support the resolution of the new screen?

Have you tried unchecking that box that says "Show only supported resolutions" in the "Properties" button?
