had it with Ghovanloo. class sucked. just make sure you do all homeworks and lab reports. They can seriously get you a B themselves. last semester I didn't make higher than a 77 on the tests and final and still made a B with no curve

[Edited on September 12, 2005 at 11:27 PM. Reason : thats banking on the fact that you ahve the same grading]

I have him, my problem is that his lectures are really bad....he has a real problem with lectures....and his notes are _______

The only way I learned anything is by thoroughly reading the book....i feel like going to classes is totally pointless

if you are going to take 403, dont wait 3 years between 302 and 403...

my advice.

you better pass that shit with Barlage or you might be forced to take in with Lunardi - the worst teacher at this mother fucking university.

That was pretty much the test in retrospect.

Barlage = the man

Seriously - I had him a year ago and thought I was going to be screwed but he really gets into the device physics stuff since he has a physics background. But go to office hours, hang out, ask questions, he tells you exactly what to expect on his tests/quizzes. Also let people stay as long as they wanted to on his final (I think the longest I heard were a few people I knew stayed 6 hours in DAN 429). Cool guy outside of class too.

The class gets better once you get to amplifiers. And if you like that stuff, take 403 with Bilbro. I highly recommend that class because Bilbro's also "the man." And like somebody said - don't wait very long between 302 and 403 if you decide to do that - you'll be lost. But Bilbro easily catches you back up because he literally redoes 1/2 of the amplifier stuff from 302 but reallllllllllly slow.

Awesome, real fair for everyone who doesnt go.

I wish more teachers were actually fair and upfront.

Then we end up with men like Alexander, and all you little faggots bitch because he doesnt want his dick sucked.

He told EVERYBODY during class what to expect on the tests and quizzes. Therefore he was fair and upfront in my opinion. Wasn't like you went to office hours and then he handed you a copy of the test.

What's sad is I remember on one of them where you had to derive transconductance, etc. from the Id equations via derviates - after giving back the tests he said, "Well I guess I won't be asking this because a lot of people missed it." Yet - he said in class 10 times, "You might want to know how to do this." Hell he even wrote on the test how to do it. And on top of that - it's a 300-level ECE course and people couldn't do a simple first derivative. That's really sad.

I have noticed a major influx of dick sucking to professors in the 400 level and is sickening to watch. Is this people's sad attempt to get recommendations for grad school? If you are gonna suck the professor's dick, at least go to office hours so everybody doesn't have to watch.

Yeah, I have seen this as well.

ECE402: some of the students have started erasing the board for the teacher after class. If you are going to do this just politely ask him to drop his pants so you can get to work.

Another example: assplay immediately after class. Students go up and ask the stupidest questions to try to feign an interest in whatever that day's lecture is. "I really like how that filter works. What are some real world uses of it?" Save that for office hours, people have legit questions / issues with grading they need addressed before their next class.

alexander: (stunned) "a dog?! i don't even have a drivers license!"

some days that man is really on his game.

I had Alexander for ECE421 last year and witnessed the following

Student: (asking a dumb question about how some long drawn out halfbaked theory that barely relates to class to try to prove he's smart) So would this work?

Alexander: Well, thats a difficult question to answer. Do you want the short answer or long answer?

Student: I'd like the short answer.

Alexander: NO!

Student: (shocked) Well, can I have the long answer?

Alexander: NO-IT-WILL-NOT!

I couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the class.

Alexander owns people daily for asking dumb questions. I like when students ask questions that are blatantly obvious like "oh so the fourier transform is a frequency domain representation" to try and show the teacher they are interested or that they understand.
