I reinstalled a fresh copy of XP SP1 (deleted all partitions, format NTFS and everything) and on the boot menu now there is two instances of XP on the bootup screen.

what happened? BIOS update needed? I have never ran into this problem before.

full format to NTFS

her bios is A08, there is a A16 release out. updating that then might try and reinstall.
