I have a Stock '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee and i just got an XM radio unit for my car. The FM modulator on it works but the sound quality on it sucks. And i could just plug it into my tape deck but thats not very attractive. I want to hardwire it into my factory unit. I heard i can get a PIE adaptor that plugs into my stereo and makes it think its a cd changer (Which i dont have). Has anyone done this before and can someone like me do it (No real car knowledge)? Or should i take it somewhere to be done? Thanks.

can you use a screwdriver and remember how things are put back together?

then you can do it.

if not, pay someone.
