i have not used this particular model, but, the satelite model that i did use impressed me so much that i am considering getting one of these instead of a thinkpad as my next laptop.

hp laptops are fine. yours probably says pavilion on it in big letters and you bought it because it was cheap.

toshibas are horrible to get repaired. (i work for a service center and they are 2nd only to dell in being a pain in the ass)

get a professional series laptop, no matter who you get it from. they hold up better, last longer, and you will be happier with it.

the ibm x41 tablet is pretty awesome, if you have the cash to shell out on an ultrabase or docking station and optical drive as well. it's also a smaller 12" tablet, but it's really nicely made and very functional.

the ibms are nice, i would stay away from toshiba.

I trust toshiba laptops, b/c of the 4 we have at work, we are still yet to have a major issue with any of them. I'm the goto guy here for computer issues, so if one had a problem I would have heard about it.
