I think it's really retarded that you have to have high speed USB to use an iPod

but my sister has an older computer, but got an ipod as a gift, and I know there is some way you can do it, or something you can buy to do it, but I don't know what it is

help a brother out plz

My girlfriend's pc doesn't have usb2.0, but when you plug in the iPod it just says "High speed device plugged into non-high speed port" or something. It still lets me upload songs, it's just not as fast as it is at work. Did you try just plugging it in? Is she using XP?

I always thought that they worked with regular USB 1.1 ports.

But expect it to be wickedly slow.
And if you're using a hard drive based iPod, expect the battery to die halfway through the transfer.

it's for my sister

I think she's got a 40 GB one, one of the newest ones

anyway I went out and bought a pci USB hi speed card

I totally didn't think older computers could support that, but I guess I was wrong
