Which is better? I have heard that dual channel ram is faster, however my motherboard only has two ram slots, and one is occupied by a 512 stick of DDR. Would it be faster to get a 1gb stick or fill both with a dual channel 1gb of two 512s?

From experience (benchmark tests)... dual channel is about 1%-3% better performance... so, it all depends on if 1%-3% is all that big of a deal to you.

yeah, the chipset may support dual channel, but the memory controller isn't dual channel. the performance difference seen from arranging memory in a dual channel array will not surpass the performance increase of an added half gig of ram.

So I should just go for a 1 gig stick to addon?

btw, I have an Asus KV8 Pro, and it's a 754 board.
