This morning I attempted to load up Firefox and my computer crashed, when I tried to reboot I got the "Non-system disk or disk error, replace and strike any key when ready" error message. I don't even have a floppy drive and theres nothing in my cd rom drive. Anyone know what the deal is? I try to keep my computer virus and spyware free but could this be related to some virus?

Your hard drive might have died... Check you boot sequence in your BIOS and check the physical connection inside your computer. I assume that hitting a key didn't help.

Have you used Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% recently to mount any CD images?

^^I didn't think you could boot from a daemon drive. I thought that only took effect when the OS + the software loaded - which takes place after the CPU boots.

How do I check my boot sequence? Not 100% on how to do that... and it let me finally boot up in safe mode, I'm trying a system restore right now to see if that helps.

that's really really odd then... i'd say the hard drive is about to shit out on you. it usually gives that error when it can't find any sort of operating system at all basically...thus it doesn't make sense that it now boots in safe mode which is esentially the same files where as before it wasn't even seeing the files at all...oh well, might wanna back yo shit up yo

this happened to me just a few days ago, if you see the words cyclic redudancy error anywhere and your not using a corrupt cd or something back up all your shit immediatly and run for the hills.

See what happens over the next couple days and share any weirdness/problems. Could be any number of things at this point, including the hard drive just randomly crapping out for a minute.

After the system restore my computer is working fine, I've done several tests and everything is coming up clean... We shall see how it goes over the next few days though.
