when I straighten out my arm, there is a tendon in my elbow that pops. It is not painful, but annoying as hell. This only happens when I do this under resistance, benchpress, pushups, etc... This actually happens to both of my elbows, and it has done this as long as I can remember (back to highschool weight traning at least)
If I put my finger on my elbow, I can actually feel the tendon or whatever slide and move when it pops
Is this going to be harmful at some point if I dont have this looked at by a medical professional? 10/2/2005 5:41:05 PM |

No. You're just paranoid. 10/2/2005 5:46:21 PM |

excercise your elbows with light weights, but many repetitions, 1 hour per day. U might get rid of that problem within a month. 10/2/2005 5:50:32 PM |

I would get it checked out by an orthopedic.... i had the same problem in my shoulders (used to swim) and I ended up developing tendonitis in one shoulder and tearing the other... not fun.... so I would get them checked just to be safe 10/2/2005 8:14:45 PM |

^ Yeah, get it checked out. My tendon acted like that and yours might also make you susceptible to hyperextension. Doing wrist curls with a 1b cans of food twice a day @ 20reps should fix it. 10/2/2005 8:46:28 PM |

It's normal. As long as there is no pain, don't worry about it. 10/2/2005 9:23:20 PM |

I dont think its air, because if I put my finger on my elbow I can actually feel it moving
This shows where on my elbow it is
I have always ignored it, but I'm afraid that if I start working out my arms more, it may become a problem 10/2/2005 10:13:28 PM |

what the problem could be is a subluxation of the ulnar nerve and or tricep tendon. as long as it doesn't hurt you i wouldn't worry about it. i had a similar problem with the poping but only in one arm. it would hurt every time i moved my arm. after 6 months of going to the doctor to get it checked out and not getting better, i finally got surgery. 12/19/2005 6:31:53 PM |

the next time I'm at the doctor, I'll be sure to ask them about it. I just havent been sick, or needed to go to the doc lately.
but it still pops, I just tried it 12/20/2005 4:17:35 PM |
