Picked it up in Alabama this weekend. Pretty thug looking car and from what I have been told I look funny driving it. My first V8 and it even came with Dinan S1. Its a highway beast and a pontoon boat around the city.





Fun car so far. To answer questions about why I would trade my m3 for this: The M was on its way out, had a salvaged title and the previous owner took poor care of the car.

What are the specs? Year/miles, so on... looks like an automatic.

If you need the Bentley books for the e39 I have yet to sell mine after getting rid of the 540 - they're mint.

Good cars but hopefully yours won't creak as much as the old 540 did.

Its a 1997 with 160,000 miles on it. Nearly every single mechanical component has been replaced including the engine. It came with every single record up to 2 weeks ago (about 100 pages). It has the dinan S1 software that negates any performance lose due to it being yes automatic . No creaking what so ever. If you did not know it has 160,000 miles on it you would think it was near new it drives better then any low milage vehicle I have ever had. It got a new engine at 97,000.

No not a lemon, most done in preventative maintanence and off recalls. Feels more solid then the 318 i drove with only 60k.

In my opinion high milege is seldom an indication of mechanical solidity, especially on German/European cars. Higher odometer readings have never scared me away from a purchase. I've seen my share of BMW/Mercs with over half a million miles.

However, it is an auto and there's no excuse for that.

circular headlights are part of the bmw design
when they went to the enclosed unit some people didnt like it. the angel eyes were a way to keep the iconic round headlights
