News and tidbits of the next election.
Quote : | "Bono, U2 in Fund-Raiser for Senator Rick Santorum
On Sunday, October 16, a truly unique political event will take place.
Teaming up with the legendary rock group U2 for a one-night only appearance will be Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Penn.).
The thousand-dollar-a-seat concert has been put together by Sean and Ana Wolfington and will take place at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia in support of Santorum’s re-election, reports NewsMax's James Hirsen.
U2 front man Bono is no stranger to Washington, D.C. He has come often to the nation’s capital to network with politicians on behalf of his many causes. " |

This doesn't make any sense. I thought Bono was a world-government supporter?
If I'm right, then what the fuck is a republican doing even recognizing his existance? 10/11/2005 1:01:26 AM |

um, this is showing obvious bias, and bono was on tv the other night talking about how he wanted to reach BOTH parties.
Way to alienate one, gg. 10/11/2005 1:04:05 AM |

this isnt really reaching out, that would consist of sitting down with the guy for dinner, this is directly helping him raise funds for a campaign and in a big way. I mean, what the hell is he thinking?

He's always been a dirty sell-out, and this just shows that. I wonder what his cut of the proceeds will be.
I have no problem with him singing for a Repub. fund raiser, but of all the people, he's singing for Santorum. 10/11/2005 1:13:59 AM |

It's all about Africa. For Bono, Santorum fought for more $texas for the anti-AIDS bill that passed some time ago while W was pushing for less. For Santorum, Bono makes him look a little less like the stereotypical Christian conservative.

I've told you people, have no fear of Santorum. People will not stand for a president, nay a presidential candidate, whose name so closely resembles "scrotum".
I will forgo the obvious tie-in pun of the name Bono. 10/11/2005 10:07:03 AM |

Quote : | "Bush to use speech in Kentucky to promote Republicans
January 11, 2006
LOUISVILLE (AP) -- President Bush will have an eye on the fall elections Wednesday when he heads to Louisville, Kentucky, to give a speech on Iraq.
Tuesday, the president told a veterans group that voters should punish any Democrat whose Iraq War rhetoric gives "comfort to our adversaries." He said "loyal opposition" is one thing, but defeatism is another.
The president's handling of the war is a big issue in Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District. Incumbent Republican Anne Northup is being challenged by a Democrat who served seven months in Iraq. Andrew Horne is in the Marine Reserves and calls the invasion a mistake. He says it's made America less secure." |
