What's the best way to clean a keyboard? You know, to get all the junk out that's fallen underneath the keys....besides turning it upside down and shaking it. 10/11/2005 11:58:24 PM |

Depends on what it is or how much your willing to risk.
1 Buy a new simple $3 keyboard
2 throw it in the dishwasher and make sure it dries all the way. 10/12/2005 6:07:15 AM |

You could try prying off the keys (if they are the ones that pop off easily) and just using a very small brush. 10/12/2005 7:12:22 AM |

If you get something nasty in there then you can take it apart and wash everything well but depending upon how your keyboard is put together it can be a real bitch getting everything to sit back where it goes (especially if it has all the extra media keys and such). 10/12/2005 9:18:14 AM |

it depends on what level of "clean" you want. you can turn it upside down and shake the hell out of it; i do that on my hair and it works quite well in between my monthly showers. compressed air will help.
But I've found the best way is to just carefully unscrew the screws off the bottom of the keyboard, remove the little plastic thingy that senses your typing, and wash everything in a tub of soapy hot water. Just be sure you put it back together exactly as you took it apart, and everything lines up.
