Call me a hermit, but I've never had the opportunity to drive on capital blvd after about 9pm before.

I had no idea that Raleigh represented the "Performance Enthusiast" crowd so well! I mean, I observed such telltale signs that Capital Blvd is indeed the place to show up if you think your ride is hot shit. For example:

1) OVAL TRACK! - Come out spring forest, go down capital, hop a right onto New Hope, get on Green and then back to spring forest. Repeat. Maybe stop at the BP to talk to your buddies and figure out if you're going to stop at the BP again on the next loop.

2) Drafting! - Get in a big pack of your fellow "Performance Enthusiast" buddies and follow each other really closely. Not limited to just your buddies though! The obstacles (read: other cars on the road) work well too if you're trying to get around your "performance enthusiast" buddy.

3) Double clutching practice! - The only problem with the stoplights on Raleigh Capital Blvd International Speedway is that there is only one yellow light....not like at the track where you can time your start. This could in fact lead to a situation where you miss your shift which will be evident to all the other obstacles on the road because your super-efficent exhaust system is loud enough to set off car alarms three counties away when you redline your hampster... I mean engine.

4) Driving without lights on - Stealth Mode Active! The track officials (read: cops) will NEVER see you like this!

5) Aerodynamic Efficency! - Through extensive wind tunnel testing and much, we'll call it "trial and error" (probably more error than trial) the Raleigh Capital Blvd. "Performance Enthusiasts" have found out that stripping the outter layer of paint from the car body and merely leaving primer in fact is a better diffuser of the boundry layer of air while performing stunning maneuvers at a daunting 45 miles per hour. Had the new, state of the art "Primer-like" body texturing job not been performed on these high performance machines, they might have actually flown away due to the inverted downforce applied by the upside down wing on the trunk.

More ancedotes later. Feel free to show your pride in the Raleigh "Performance Enthusiast" community!

I believe the object of the game is to see who can have the loudest exhaust and slowest car on the road all at the same time.

optmus:

its a combination of lack of sleep and having to drink diet mountain dew and old bay seasoned chips to stay awake.

Was in Maryland yesterday.

Raleigh last night.

I'm typing this shit right here from Boston.

Honestly I was just trying to figure out a way of pointing out that these tools drive around in circles without turning it into your typical "OMFG RIC0r!" post.

I was actually just driving through there last night, and ONLY like 6 cars tried to race me. These guys are truly retarded, there are cops everywhere. First of all i harely ever race, second of all i never race when i know the chanes of getting pulled is over like 5%, and i never race shitty ass cars i know i can beat like last night. I mean does a guy driving a old ass CRX with from what i could tell just an exhaust, with four guys in it even think he could keep up with my spec v w/ I/H/E. ummm....no. idiots...

i dont get the "double clutching" practice and have never seen a backwards-mounted wing before... but your other points are true I guess. I speak from US70 in Hickory experience though; never been to the Capitol shenanigans

I rolled down Crapital in my dad's car, leaving a get together. I had a couple of fags in a small Mazda try to race me, then some cock goblins in a Jetta flew up next to me and revved. I just laughed, reached down and opened both of the cutouts........I didnt have to rev back.

Oh yeah, a 350Z attempted a flyby, but I quickly ended his attempt and then some.
