"It's french, bitch"

Who saw it? I recorded it, and I'll be seeing it tonight. There's a thread in the soap box, but I figured since it's a tv show...

hoping they'll create a place on torrentspy for it. they're almost 2 weeks behind on "The Office" though, so not holding out much hope.....

(ps i'm in Germany - that's about the only way to keep up with good shows here)

overall, I thought it was funny
you could tell he was a little nervous b/c he's stumble over his words a bit
my favorite part was the end when he and Stone Phillips were having an "anchor-off"

Yeah, the "gravitas" bit was my favorite part.

Not bad for a first episode. I still think the interview portion should be done differently.

I want a video clip of the gravitas segment. Someone should find it and post it for me.

I love him on the Daily Show...

but if every episode is going to be centered on just how smarmy he can act, I don't see this show lasting long.

Tonight's episode was an improvement

My favorite part is the O'Rielly-esque "talking points" on the side of the screen.

The interview with the congressman sucked. Those were always my least favorite part of the Daily Show and

Colbert Report is all of the aspects of the Daily Show that I didn't need to see spun off.

I'll continue to change the channel at 11:30pm to PBS and get the best interviews on tv from Charlie Rose.

I don't see much difference between it and The Daily Show. I'll watch them if they are on, but nothing to make a special time slot for.

I noticed that on his first show you couldn't see the guest when he first runs over. They changed that real quick.

It was OK.

The show's pretty funny, but I keep trying to compare it to The Daily Show, and it keeps coming up short.

I felt the same way. I was actually hoping CC would only do the CR about two nights a week. Does the CR have the same writers as the DS?

you cant succesfully run a spoof of someone else's show EVERY weeknight. eventually the jokes run out and get old.

His show is better suited to a SNL extended skit, or a weekly show.

Colbert better start developing his own style beyond mocking O'Reilly or he'll be canceled in no time.
