i can't view pdfs on campus computers. they show up for about two seconds, and then act like they're loading data, and then the window goes blank.
anyone know what's up with this? 10/19/2005 2:05:48 PM |

it is certainly a user error since you didn't mention the operating system. 10/19/2005 2:09:41 PM |

well, you know it's not linux. i'm a girl. you should assume this for all girls unless they tell you otherwise.
i always use the windows machines in labs. it's not a user error - it's not my fault. if you think OS matters, then ask, and don't insinuate that the problem is my fault. like i said, this is on campus computers] 10/19/2005 2:16:28 PM |

Macs are generally considered to be non *NIX.
IN any case, it just means that the installation at the machine you're working at is corrupt.

If it's not the operating system

crim - PDFs in general. firefox. i only use IE on sites where javascript won't work with firefox.
my novell space isn't especially full, but i could stand to add some space there. i'll try that and see. 10/19/2005 4:20:57 PM |

i found sometimes adobe brings up an update window that can easily get hidden, and if you don't click yes or no then you can't view the pdf
but that doesn't explain why you're having this much trouble w/ pdf, save it and then try opening directly with adobe reader 10/19/2005 4:42:31 PM |

save it on the desktop... generally by right clicking and save as.... i think its something with the licensing or jsut a bad program error with adobe, and the fact that adobe upgraded lately...
you can usually acess the file or print it out using that method 10/21/2005 12:59:50 AM |
