ok...so i think my office chair is my problem with my bones being so achy, lower back pain, neck pain, etc etc. so...what kind of office chair do you have? I sit at my desk most of the day (8 hour work day)...i go take bathroom breaks and a trip to the breakroom at least once a day...and i may spend up to an hour away from my desk at the copying machine or trekking down the hall to a colleague's office.

Yea I can't stand mine at work.

I had to fight for it too! I didn't want to get stuck with the ones with the split back.

These damn things are everywhere.

We had the ones imhill posted when I worked in Bosnia and they were the shit. However, they were way too expensive.

When I did internship with Infineon Technologies, everyone in the building had that Aeron Herman Miller chair (pic in imhill's post). Shit is so damn comfortable to sit in.

yeah we've got the ones imhill posted here only slightly more expensive... i think the last few we got were about $1200.

they are fan-fucking-tastic though.

i still say that for that amount of money it should suck my dick too, but you can't have everything.

^^ hahaha, i'm also sitting on one of those.

I'd kill for an Aeron chair tho. My step-father-in-law has one, and it's as good as sitting on a chair made completely of titties.

i'm stting on a samsonite from staples, it's rather decent.

lumbar support is really important for me.

when i get up, it's like i haven't been sitting down at all.

no sore spots.

[Edited on October 21, 2005 at 12:47 PM. Reason : $70 down from $150 on clearance. cloth, b/c it breathes better.]

I'm thinking about having my desk raised and getting a high chair so i can alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day.

i'd also suggest getting a gavel so you can shout "you're out of order, sir!" and then promptly go back to whatever you were doing.

actually, you'll appreciate sitting higher up as you get older.

We have the 2nd one right there at my office in cary. It's good for posture, support, all that, but sometimes I like to sit with one leg pulled up so my ankle is behind my other knee - it's almost impossible to do that in those chairs because of the hard edges. But I guess you're not supposed to sit like that.....

I'm in the office in Munich right now and the "standard issue" chairs suck - if the bottom is flat (parallel to the ground), the back leans back, and if the back is straight up, the bottom slants towards the ground. terribly uncomfortable, and my neck and shoulders started to ache horribly by 1:00 each day. I changed to a normal, non reclining, lightly padded 90degree chair and I feel better now. If I force myself to sit up straight it helps a lot.

Exactly my chair at my current job. Not bad, but not the best. Still I think they run about $500 or so.

I know they have more of the second type at Wake Forest Road and 900, but I don't remember seeing them at 1000. I guess I don't pay enough attention to chairs.

I've got a Herman Miller Aeron chair here at work, its mostly comfortable but mine is too big. I have the size C chair, when I'm too short for it. I need a size B chair instead.

One of these days I'll go snooping and try to trade with a co-worker

You are sitting at a computer, not flying a fighter jet. I don't think you need a special chair.

you may want to look at your feet position and make sure that they are not hanging and are at the proper angle for your back and position ergonomically.

Ps i got a 80 dollar chair max so dont complain
